Jan 19th update

We continue to finish off work for the course and work on the Culminating Activity.

Almost all students owe something ... find out what you owe, man!

And finish the CA, too.

Exam prep starts Friday and continues Monday. Monday, mainly.

Jan 14th update

We spent the week finishing off the film and getting some of the work done for the Culminating Activity.

I also got this from the front page of the online version of the Toronto Star: Peel Police article about using cell phones to catch bad guys ... but also probably some nice people, too.

It might make an interesting addition to anyone who hasn't finished their CA for the course already.

...and if you haven't finished that, or the work on Fahrenheit 451, you should get on with it.

I'm trying really hard to get through this course.

We were watching the film. Trying to watch the film. Watch the film at home if you are reading this....

So ... today and this week are "working on the Culminating Activity" times. I'm hoping that my students can take advantage of the links on the right hand of the screen to help with their respective CA's.

You can always work on the rough copies during the Break, as it is due just after we get back.

Dec 14 update

I posted a few helpful links for the Senior English course I'm currently teaching today.

We also talked about / took up question 11 and 12 while in class today.

Dec 9 update

So today we talked a little bit about the Culminating for the course. I gave "use a blog" option my best effort to the class.

Again, if you want to use "dead tree things" to scratch your answers on to complete the CA, yes, I'll take it. I'll have to welcome you back to high school in 1985, too. Wasn't a bad year to go to high school, by the way....

We then clicked on the link for the film Fahrenheit 451and watched to about 16th minute of the film. We stopped and chatted a bit about what we were seeing, too.

Dec 8 update

Well, we read to page 50 and I handed out the Culminating Activity.

I;ll post more links and helpful stuff about how to do that Activity well on this blog over the next week or so.
